READY TO CELEBRATE SAUSAGE WEEK 2026?

It’s not long to wait now! The date for your diary is 26 October to 1 November 2026 – so, have you decided how you’re going to celebrate UK Sausage Week?

At MCJ Casings, we’re getting excited about this year’s celebrations and, of course, the UK Sausage Week Awards Lunch on Monday 26 October, at Butchers Hall in London. We’re looking forward to seeing who has entered this prestigious awards event and discovering who will be crowned this year’s winners.

Meet the MCJ Team at the awards

Our MCJ field sales team will be proudly representing MCJ Casings at this year’s event.

Dave Pollard, covering the North Region, and Ian Macdonald, covering the South Region & Ireland, will both be attending.

If you’re heading to the awards lunch too, why not look out for Dave and Ian? Come over, say hello and have a chat with the MCJ team – you never know, you could even find yourself sharing a table with us!

Some Ideas for UK Sausage Week 2026

UK Sausage Week is a fantastic opportunity to get creative, have some fun and showcase your sausages to your customers. Here are a few ideas from the MCJ team to get you thinking…

Create a special-edition sausage

Why not create a limited-edition sausage flavour especially for UK Sausage Week?

It’s a great way to encourage your customers to try something new and create a bit of excitement around your sausage counter.

Have you tried our recipes yet?

Our Sticky Toffee Apple Sausage, made using our Old Traditional Sausage Mix, is a fantastic choice for this time of year. Or why not explore some of the other flavours you can create using this versatile mix, including: Chinese Salt & Pepper, Lamb & Mint, Cracked Black Pepper or Sage & Onion.

Looking for something different? Take a look at some of our other gourmet sausage mixes, including our Welsh Dragon, Caramelised Onion, Tomato & Basil and Gourmet Moroccan flavours.

There’s plenty of inspiration to help you create something your customers will want to come back for!

Run a special offer

UK Sausage Week could be the perfect time to introduce a special promotion or discount on your sausages.

You could use an offer to encourage customers to try a new flavour, promote a limited-edition sausage or simply help drive more sales throughout the week.

Team up with a local business

Why celebrate alone?

Speak to a local pub, café or restaurant and see if they would like to feature your sausages on their menu or create a special sausage dish for UK Sausage Week.

It’s a great way to introduce your products to new customers while supporting another local business.

Host a sausage tasting or cooking demonstration

Give your customers the chance to taste something new.

Set up a small tasting station in your shop and offer samples of your latest sausage creations. You could even invite a local chef to demonstrate different ways to cook, serve or use sausages.

It’s a great way to create interest, encourage conversation and get customers involved.

Get the next generation involved

Why not work with a local school or college on a “Design a Sausage Flavour” competition?

Ask students to come up with their dream sausage flavour. If practical, you could select a winning idea and turn it into a real sausage – or provide the winner with a selection of sausages to take home.

It could be a fun way to engage with your local community and introduce younger customers to the craft of sausage making.

Create a little excitement

Everyone loves a competition or prize draw!

You don’t need to offer an extravagant prize. A few packs of your most delicious sausages could be enough to get customers involved.

Or, if you want to make a bigger splash, why not put together a meat hamper featuring your BEST sausages?

A competition or giveaway could also create a great story for your local newspaper or community publication, helping you generate even more publicity for your shop.

Share your sausage recipes

Give your customers some inspiration for what to do with their sausages at home.

Why not share recipes for an Ultimate Sausage Casserole, Sausage Pasta or a delicious Sausage Bake? And, of course, October wouldn’t be complete without a classic Toad in the Hole!

Get social & make the most of your social media throughout the week.

Share your special sausage flavours, promotions, recipes and behind-the-scenes videos of your team making sausages.

Use #UKSausageWeek and encourage your customers to tag your business when they’re cooking and enjoying your sausages at home.

Get creative. Get involved. Get your sausages noticed!

From creating exciting new flavours to running promotions, tastings and competitions, UK Sausage Week is a great opportunity to showcase what makes your sausages special.
