The MCJ Casings sales team recently welcomed Scott Hughes and Simon Nock from Viscofan for an in-depth training session focused on collagen sausage casings. The session formed part of MCJ’s ongoing commitment to product knowledge, customer service, and offering the widest possible casing solutions to the butchery industry.

While MCJ Casings is a specialist manufacturer and supplier of natural sausage casings, the training was designed to broaden the team’s understanding of the Viscofan collagen casing range also offered and supplied by MCJ. This additional insight enables the sales team to better support customers who use collagen casings alongside natural casings, and to recommend the most suitable option for each application.

Laura added: “We learnt all about the product – from how it’s manufactured using elasticated protein derived from cattle hides, through to how it’s packaged onto sticks, loaded into caddies and cartons, and delivered to our customers. We discussed the different sizes and product types available, including Hand Link, Machine Link and the premium Natur F range, as well as storage guidance and best cooking practices once the casing has been filled. I now feel much more confident answering questions from butchers and customers who are interested in our collagen casings range.”
